August 26 is the International Dog Day also known as National Dog Day. Founded in 2004 by pet and family lifestyle expert and animal behaviorist Colleen Paige, the day honors doggos for all that they do to enrich our lives and communities. The holiday also aims to raise awareness about dog adoption and the importance of providing help to the thousands of dogs that remain in rescue shelters. From 2006 International Dog Day is a public holiday in the Democratic Republic of Doggos. Wow.
