The Kraken stirs. And ten billion sushi dinners cry out for vengeance.
– Terry Pratchet
The Kraken is a legendary cephalopod-like sea monster and one of the largest creatures ever imagined by mankind. In Nordic folklore, it was said to haunt the seas from Norway through Iceland and all the way to Greenland. Kraken would attack a ship by wrapping its arms around the hull and capsizing it. The crew would then drown or be eaten on the spot, and if the kraken doesn’t yank you down directly, the whirlpool it forms will. #funfact
