What Is An OOBE?
Reports of out-of-body experiences vary. Some consist of little more than a fleeting feeling that body and mind have come loose, while others recount tales of floating far from the person’s physical body and traveling to otherworldly plains. The term out-of-body experience was introduced in 1943 by G. N. M. Tyrrell and was adopted by researchers as an alternative to belief-centric labels such as “astral projection” or “spirit walking”. OBEs can be induced by brain traumas, sensory deprivation, near-death experiences, dissociative and psychedelic drugs, dehydration, sleep, electrical stimulation of the brain and meditation. #funfact
