Lithography was invented in 1798 but modern poster, as we know it, dates back to the 1840s and 1850s when the printing industry perfected colour lithography and made mass production possible. Posters quickly spread around the world and became a staple of the graphic design. They were used to spread ideas to the general public, promote various political parties, advertise products and recruit soldiers. Today, digital printing is changing the printing industry again… #funfact
