Mustafa Kemal Atatürk (1881-1938) also known as Ataturk was the founder and first president of the modern Turkish Republic. He was born in 1881 and became a military officer, leading the Turkish forces in the Gallipoli Campaign during World War I. After the war, Ataturk played a key role in the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, which replaced the Ottoman Empire. As president, he embarked on a series of sweeping reforms aimed at modernizing and secularizing Turkish society, including the adoption of a new legal system, the introduction of Western-style clothing, and the promotion of education and women’s rights. #history
